Doing the Word

Streetlights flickered across his face as Dashi Sopoti walked the streets of Downtown Boise on a Friday night. During his first year attending Life Bible College, it was put on his heart to minister downtown and be the light of Jesus.

Now as he walked past the red brick buildings, Dashi was stirred inside to talk to a guy up ahead. He started to chat with the guy and learned he was going through a divorce. Dashi started to pray for him, and it came out that God had more in store for this man’s marriage.

The next Friday night, as Dashi walked around downtown, he came across the same guy. Dashi learned the man was no longer getting a divorce. He and his wife had worked things out and saw new life in their marriage.

“It was because I was led to pray for him the week before, by the unction of the Holy Spirit, that his marriage was changed,” Dashi said.

Graduating from Life Bible College in 2021, one of the things Dashi loved were the opportunities to apply all he was learning in the classroom. Not only did he learn more about God, the Bible, and his authority in Jesus, but he also put it all into action.

Through the Lifestyle Evangelism class, he had to opportunity to lay his hands on the sick and see them recover. He went on the LBC mission trip to Uganda and cast out demons. He prayed for people who received the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

“It’s so awesome that the bible college gives opportunity for that to happen,” Dashi said. “It’s very energizing when you get to do the word. When you get to see lives that are changed after you’ve laid hands on them and prayed for them…it’s an amazing thing.”
